Late Smt. Kamlesh Arora, the visionary founder of Small Wonder Public School, Hisar, believed that the earliest years of a child’s life shape their entire future. Her commitment to education was rooted in a simple conviction — every child deserves a nurturing, secure and thoughtful beginning. She envisioned a school where young learners felt valued, protected and guided with patience, and where education cultivated curiosity, character and confidence in equal measure. She aimed to build an institution that blended warmth with discipline, modern learning tools with timeless values, and structured academics with genuine emotional care.
Highlight: She envisioned a school where learning begins with love, grows with values and leads to lifelong confidence.
In 2004–05, she transformed this vision into reality by establishing Small Wonder Public School. Her approach to early education centered on holistic development — strengthening academic foundations while nurturing emotional intelligence, social skills, creativity and physical growth. She ensured that the school environment felt homely and welcoming, with bright classrooms, thoughtful teaching practices and a culture that celebrated the individuality of every child.
Her foresight positioned SWPS as one of the early adopters of modern teaching tools in Hisar. She introduced smart classrooms, audio-visual aids and structured learning systems long before they became common. Her emphasis on quality and systematic processes led Small Wonder Public School to become Hisar’s first ISO 9001:2015 certified school, marking a significant milestone in excellence and efficient school management.
Her leadership ensured that every child felt supported, encouraged and equipped for a strong start in life.
Smt. Arora believed deeply that education must shape character as much as intellect. She wished for every student of SWPS to grow into a responsible, empathetic and confident individual. She fostered value-based learning, respectful behaviour and emotional resilience — qualities that define the school’s culture even today. She strongly encouraged collaboration between school and home, reminding parents and teachers that a child flourishes most when both work together with shared purpose.
During the Annual Function of 2011–12, she shared a message that beautifully captured her philosophy of effort, courage and self-belief — a message that remains a source of inspiration for the entire SWPS community:
“ख्वाहिशों से गिरते नहीं फूल झोली में,
अपने कर्म की साख को हिलाना होगा;
कुछ नहीं होगा कोसने से अंधेरे को,
अपने हिस्से का दीया खुद ही जलाना होगा।”
These lines continue to guide students and educators alike, reminding them that growth and success come not from waiting for opportunities, but from creating them with consistent effort and determination.
Under her guidance, SWPS rapidly gained the trust of parents and the admiration of the community. Students excelled in academics, sports, arts and character development — a reflection of her clarity of purpose and disciplined leadership. She laid a foundation that ensured every child’s first school experience would be joyful, meaningful and profoundly formative.
Small Wonder Public School stands today as a proud testament to her vision — a place where children grow with dignity, joy and purposeful learning.
Her values, vision and principles continue to guide the school’s journey, inspiring every educator to uphold the thoughtful, child-centered approach she believed in.
